How We are Different From Traditional Chiropractors
By Dr. Jason Slagel | September 18th, 2021
There are two major problems with Conventional Chiropractic:
- Twisting, cracking, and popping the spine repeatedly can make the spine hypermobile and can destabilize the spine long term. This may help decrease pain temporarily at the beginning of care, but can cause long term issues.
- Every single visit to a conventional chiropractor the patient gets adjusted, which means that every single time they go, there is still a problem that needs to be fixed.
At some point questions have to come up. If you take your car to a mechanic once a month and that mechanic always finds something wrong that needs to be fixed, then the only conclusion is that something fishy is going on.
Here is our “Structural” solution to these two problems:
- Our spinal correction feels like taking a pulse, not taking a jackhammer to the spine. We do not do any twisting, cracking, or popping. Our goal is to reposition the spine, not just to make the joints move more. Just like if the foundation of your house shifts, you don’t want to make it move more, you want to reposition it so it can be stable long term and the house doesn’t fall apart.
- When we correct the position of the spine back to normal, the spine tends to stay in that normal position as long as there is no new trauma to it. This means that under care in our office, you need far fewer corrections and those corrections last.
